How do you set up a guitar effects pedal?

I am thinking of buying this guitar effects pedal http://www.guitarcenter.com/DigiTech-RP90-Guitar-Multi-Effects-Pedal-104653852-i1375342.gc and I've never used a guitar effect pedal before and want to know how to set it up because I want to buy it and know that my amp cannot use it or something like that.

All amps can use the pedal, and if u buy not forgot another string (such as one for plugging in a guitar amp.) All you do is plug a cable from the amp jack labeled left an impact and the other cable from the guitar jack labeled input. The button is only for moving between whether you are going to plug in a mixer or amp and seeing as you are a beginner, you should leave it instead, unless you are connecting it a mixer, which I doubt. Everything about how to use it will probably be included in instructions. The other two jacks for headphones is and an alternative source of power, which may or may not be included. If not, it requires a battery.
